It is about that time of year again when we spend $20 of our hard earned dollars to compete in the CrossFit Games Open. It is the cheapest way to find out just how many people in the world are stronger and faster than you are. In my case it is all of them but I am still going to put up my $20 and represent for XCF. I am making fun, but I actually really do enjoy the open season. It creates such an awesome energy of competition and camaraderie that doesn’t exist for most of us in our 9-5. Or in the case of KD it’s more like 8-1230ish. Anyhow I love the open because during every class I get to see folks throw down like champions and get rooted on like champions. I consider every person that trains here an athlete and while we test our mettle in various ways and at various points throughout the year this can be considered game day for many of us. We probably won’t make it to the Games this year. Maybe ever but that doesn’t mean we can’t take part in the largest community driven exercise movement in the world with the same grit and determination that the folks who stand on top of the podium in July have. I am excited to see what comes out of the hopper this year and I hope more XCF members than ever take part in this challenge.
If you want to sign up for the open you can do so HERE.
No worries if you don’t want to officially commit. We will be doing these workouts on Fridays as a part of our normal programming so you will get a chance regardless. I find the data set that is produced pretty cool. Don’t you want to know where you stack up among 37 year olds worldwide?
