September 10 is a day that will live forever in the minds of dozens. Four years ago today XCF had it’s first group classes on the carpeted landing of Xplore Fitness. We had 1 erg, 1 set of db, and three barbells, one of which I borrowed from a friend. We have come a long way since then and I truly believe, much like one of our core values state, we are getting better everyday. It is a big deal and it isn’t. It is quite a milestone but at the same time nothing changes. Come Monday we are taking another step on the path to greater fitness. I am happy, proud, and thankful that you are trusting me to take you there. This past year has been a wild one. 4 babies, only one is mine, and two more on the way, CI leaving for Mexico, Tommy going back to Vermont, Harpa getting married and deployed or some such nonsense, 3 new trainers on board, athlete mentors stepping up, Bryan Cohen finally got double unders, sectionals, regionals, wodfest, and 2 10k rows in one month. Epic. Our 5th year is going to be even better. I am psyched about the changes we have on tap and hopeful for the changes that have yet to be conceived. See you Monday.
I have an MBA and when I decided to become a personal trainer my father took it as a failure on his part to raise a child with common sense. Every time I would talk to him he would ask me if I would consider putting my resume on monster.com or careerbuilder.com because he was sure someone would offer me a “real” job. About a year after starting my CrossFit affiliate we moved into the space we are in now and I sent him this picture to show him that I had a “real” job now. We weren’t just throwing weights around in the corner. We had premises. This picture was taken just after we moved in. A lot has changed. A lot has stayed the same.
